Who's on Your List?

When I was a kid every trip in the car was a chance to bird watch. We would look out the windows and count Hawks and Kestrels, Swans and Ducks. I grew up aware of the multitude of varieties of animals and plants all around me and it seemed important to identify them.

I've started to keep track of all the bird species I have attracted to my yard and those I see in my travels around town. It's pretty cool to look at it, here is the list for January (1/1- 1/10) so far, sorry it's not in alphabetical order, pictures are mine :

Blue bird

Purple Finch

Gold Finch

Hairy Woodpecker

Downey Woodpecker

Red-bellied Woodpecker

Tufted Titmouse

Carolina Wren

White-breasted Nuthatch

Red-breasted Nuthatch

Song Sparrow

White-throated Sparrow

Red-winged Black Bird

Turkey Vulture

Coopers Hawk

Black Duck

Blue Jay

Tree Sparrow

I'll keep adding, let me know what you see.

Sad that I missed the Sand Hill Cranes.
